The asset management firm's new hire in Hong Kong aims to support global and regional private banks with the firmʼs multi-boutique offering.

Zurich-based Vontobel has is expanding in Hong Kong with the addition of relationship manager Mavis Huang, it announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Huang joins the firm from DWS, where she was responsible for developing relationships with leading local and global private banks as well as with wealth management platforms. She was previously responsible for business development with a focus on Greater China at Income Partners Asset Management and held business development positions at Value Partners and China Merchants Securities Asset Management.

Regional Growth

While Vontobel has been in Asia since 2009, it has recently stepped up its presence in the region and affirmed its commitment to serve global banks and the intermediary channel by expanding its relationship management teams in the region.

In October, Vontobel opened an office in Singapore to expand its reach in Asia and further accelerate growth, and hired Benny Gay as Asia head of intermediary clients and Jeremy Tan as a relationship manager for the region’s intermediary client segment.
