Patrick Odier, head of the Swiss Bankers Association, called for a close cooperation between financial centers outside of the U.S. and the European Union.

Patrick Odier (pictured below), whose presidency of the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA) will end by mid-September 2016, urges a coalition of financial centers Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong and London.

«I would like to advocate that the Swiss financial center works closely with London, Hong Kong and Singapore, and also with other places outside the U.S. and the EU,» Odier told Swiss newspaper «NZZ am Sonntag» (article in German and behind paywall) on Sunday.

Common Positions

«The emerging group should bear the working title F4,» the Swiss banker said. «This initiative for more cooperation should originate from Switzerland.»

«It would help all involved parties to develop common positions on entrepreneurial and regulatory questions,» added Odier, a managing partner with Geneva-based private bank Lombard Odier.

He also said that he will stay committed to and support this plan after he has given up his presidency of the SBA.
