Vanguard, the U.S. investment company, has hired a manager from Blackrock to strengthen its distribution network in Europe.

Vanguard named Andreas Zingg head of ETF distribution management for continental Europe, the company said in a statement today.

The U.S. fund firm said the position was new and that it will be based at its Zurich branch.

Zingg joins from the iShares-business at Blackrock, for which he worked for six years. His latest charge was the distribution of ETFs in the EMEA region.

Previously, Zingg had worked for UBS Global Asset Management as a director and senior ETF product specialist. Zingg started out at McKinsey & Company as an engagement manager.
