Zurich Insurance is losing its highest-ranking marketing and communications executive, finews.ch has learned. The heavyweight leaves a role that was created nearly two years ago under former Chief Executive Martin Senn.

Andreas Hildenbrand is a crisis management specialist and veteran of Credit Suisse and Swiss Life.

An economist, he was hired by previous CEO Martin Senn in 2014 following the merger of Zurich's marketing and communications departments earlier that year.

Replaced by Welton

Hildenbrand is leaving the insurer at the end of October, finews.ch has learned. A Zurich spokesman confirmed the move, without providing further details.

He will be temporarily replaced by Isabelle Welton. She is currently Zurich's head of Human Resources, but has held a series of jobs since returning to the insurer in 2013 after seven years at IBM.

The suicide of Senn earlier this year roiled the insurer.

Lemongrass Alumnus

Hildenbrand left his job as partner and co-owner of Lemongrass Communications, which is regularly ranked among the most influential public relations agencies for corporates, to join Zurich nearly two years ago.

Among Lemongrass' other partners and co-founders is Karin Rhomberg, formerly head of Credit Suisse's media department.
