Union Bancaire Privee has again added to its convertible bonds team, which manages nearly 4 billion Swiss francs in assets.

The Geneva-based private bank and asset manager said it has hired Benjamin Schapiro as a senior portfolio manager and co-manager for its Paris-based European convertible bonds team.

Schapiro has been a portfolio manager and co-head of La Financiere de l’Echiquier for the past three years.

He will work together with Raphael di Marzio, head of UBP's European convertible strategies, to strengthen the bank's European open-ended funds and mandates.

Convertible Expertise

Schapiro’s hire follows that of Cristina Jarrin earlier this year (in German). The convertible bonds team is led by Jean-Edouard Reymond in Paris, where UBP has built up a speciality in the asset class.

Reymond said the team now totals 11 people and manages almost 4 billion Swiss francs.
