One of the founders of Partners Group has joined Swiss fintech company Nectar as an investor. The family office managing the assets of the Partners Group founders has agreed to become a customer of the fintech firm.

Urs Wietlisbach agreed to take a stake in Nectar, a provider of middle and back office services, the company said in a statement today. With the decision, Wietlisbach is contributing to the financing of the next growth phase, Nectar said.

Nectar, which used to be known as Etops, provides middle and back office services to family offices and independent asset managers. It is about to launch its own wealth management platform.

Branches in New York, Bratislava

The two founders of Nectar Financial, Michael Appenzeller and Pius Stucki, as well as the management team, continue to hold the majority of the capital.

The family office managing the assets of the founders of Partners Group has agreed to become a client of the Nectar Financial platform.

Nectar was founded in 2010 and is based in Altendorf. It has 50 employees and operates branches in New York and Bratislava. The 30 customers of Nectar have assets under management totaling 35 billion francs.
