The Swiss unit of CA Indosuez has appointed an investment specialist to take charge of a Geneva-based team of 150 staff. The manager has been with the French bank for years.

French bank CA Indosuez appointed Omar Shokur as new head of markets and investment solutions (MIS) at Indosuez wealth management in Geneva, the company said in a statement today.

Starting this month, Shokur was made responsible for the MIS teams in Switzerland, Asia and the Middle East, with a total of some 150 employees. He manages the wealth management and corporate finance teams.

Member of Executive Committee

Shokur will be working to develop the customer services as well as product and service offerings and thus will help strengthen Indosuez Wealth Management Group organically, the statement said.

The manager will take a seat on the executive committee of CA Indosuez (Switzerland).

Shokur reports to Jean-François Deroche, chief executive officer at CA Indosuez (Switzerland) and Frédéric Lamotte, CIO of the group.

Mathematician With MBA

Shokur is a mathematician and holds an MBA of IMD Business School in Lausanne. He was appointed head of the business with financial intermediaries in Geneva seven years ago and was promoted to head of the Swiss and Asian division in this segment in 2014.

He joined Crédit Agricole private banking in 2001 and worked on strategic and operative projects in the development of the company.
