The head of private banking at St. Galler Kantonalbank has decided to leave the bank with immediate effect. CEO Roland Ledergerber will take charge until the company appoints a successor.

Daniel Lipp, the head of private banking at St. Galler Kantonalbank (SGKB), has decided to resign from the executive committee with immediate effect, the bank said in a statement today.

CEO Roland Ledergerber will manage the division until the bank has appointed a successor for Lipp.

Hyposwiss Integration as Major Achievement

Lipp, a former UBS banker, had been the head of private banking and a member of the executive since 2008. During his tenure, the bank reorganized the private banking business, with the divestment of some units and the integration of the remaining parts of Hyposwiss a major task in which Lipp played a crucial role.

SGKB said that Lipp had decided to take on a new professional challenge and therefore had notified the bank about his wish to leave. The bank hasn’t yet decided about a successor.
