Fintech is booming in Switzerland. And equally so in Brazil. Which is why the government has launched an initiative for a tie-up between the two communities.

Swissnex is a Swiss government-sponsored network for the global promotion of Swiss business and innovation. The organization plans a fintech trip to Sao Paolo, the banking center of Brazil.

Swissnex has developed a fintech network in Brazil and sees very good opportunities for a tie-up between Swiss and Brazilian fintech eco-systems, according to an invitation sent by the project organizers.

Bridging the Income Gap

Sao Paolo is one of the cities where a globally recognized fintech network has been able to develop. The city is home to numerous banks and one of an economic powerhouse in Latin America.

Brazil is a country with a strong division between rich and poor – while 33 million citizens have their own mobile banking access, some 55 million don’t even own an account. The fledgling fintech industry hopes to make banking available to more citizens, which in turn should bolster the fintech companies.

The Swissnex trip will take place November 13-15.
