What are the best finance films of all time? finews.com reviews this year's new releases as well as old classics to bring you a run-down of the essential viewing for the aspiring Wall Streeter – those which tell a riveting story and which stand the test of time.

Here are finews.com's top-ten picks:

10. Money Monster (2016)

George Clooney and Julia Roberts – need we say anymore? «Money Monster» doesn't necessarily focus on Wall Street: the main character is a showy television stock-picker. The film quickly moves into thriller territory when a disgruntled «regular guy» takes Clooney hostage on set after losing his life savings on a dud investment tip.

The two ultimately team up to investigate a market-rigging scheme in a South African platinum mine. Directed by Jodie Foster, the movie banks on big stars – including Dominic West as a crooked businessman – and fast-paced action to suck viewers in.
