Amundi, the French asset manager, has appointed a new country manager for Switzerland. It has tempted a prominent Swiss banker to return from a prolonged time out spent in the Caribbean.

Amundi Switzerland appointed Marius Wuergler (pictured below) as its new country boss, according to two reliable sources contacted by finews.com. Amundi will only confirm the appointment once the new country manager has taken up his job.

Banker With the Right Experience

Marius Wuergler 162 w160Wuergler is well-known among Swiss asset managers. His most recent appointment was as head of sales Europe at Lombard Odier Investment Managers.

Previously, the Swiss banker worked as a managing director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Amundi tempted Wuergler to come back after a prolonged time out. He had left Lombard Odier in June 2014 after three years on the job. Since his departure at the Geneva-based bank, he spent a lot of time on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, according to his profile on LinkedIn.
