Valiant is proposing a risk expert from the fintech sector and a veteran Credit Suisse banker to its board. The move will bring the Swiss bank's female quotient to 50 percent of its board.

Lucerne-based Valiant is proposing that Maya Bundt and Nicole Pauli be elected to its board at a May 18 shareholder meeting, the bank said on Tuesday.

The 45-year-old Pauli has extensive experience in banking: the economist and CFA held various roles at Swiss giant Credit Suisse from 2000 until 2015, most recently as a managing director in private banking. Pauli took a break in Juli 2015 to start a family.

Bundt 500

Bundt (pictured above) has been with reinsurer Swiss Re for the past 14 years, where she is currently head of cyber and digital strategy. Previously, she worked as a strategy consultant for Boston Consulting Group.

The 46-year-old the Swiss and German dual national holds a PhD in structural physics and is specialized in the risks and opportunities for the financial sector. Bundt is also a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council for the Digital Economy and Society.

Four Women, Four Men

Valiant is keeping its board at eight members, and the election of Bundt would Pauli would mean the body is comprised of four men and four women. The bank is proposing the other board members including Barbara Artmann, Jean-Baptiste Beuret, chairman Juerg Bucher, Christoph Buehler, Othmar Stoeckli and Franziska von Weissenfluh for reelection.

One vacancy has come from vice-chairman Ivo Furrer, who is stepping down because he was asked to join the board of Julius Baer, a larger competitor.
