Deutsche Bank has hired a veteran private banker to head its Swiss business with Saudi clients. The executive used to work for Credit Suisse and Barclays.

Deutsche Bank appointed Fawaz Baba as head of the Swiss wealth management team catering to clients from Saudi Arabia, according to an announcement sent to the wealth management division today.

Baba has plenty of banking experience with customers from this region, having served in similar positions at Credit Suisse and Barclays.

Based in Geneva

The banker will be based in Geneva and report to Sascha Pietrek and Steve Wainwright, the head of wealth management in the Middle East and Africa.

A Deutsche Bank spokesman said the region as a whole and Saudi Arabia in particular enjoyed a high priority at the bank and for its growth plans. The bank wants to significantly increase the number of clients from Saudi Arabia under the guidance of Baba.
