Geneva-based Lombard Odier is expanding its institutional business and has appointed a former Deutsche Bank manager to head European sales.

Lombard Odier Investment Managers (Lombard Odier IM) has appointed Jonathan Clenshaw to the new position as head of institutional sales for Europe, the company said in a statement today.

Based in London, Clenshaw will take charge of sales and customers services for institutional clients in Europe. Keeping in line with company policy, the unit will focus on institutional clients in Europe’s core markets. Clenshaw will take up his new job in July and report to Carolina Minio-Paluello, global head of sales and solutions.

Two Decades With Deutsche

Clenshaw joins Lombard Odier from Deutsche Asset Management, where he was head of sales in the U.K. and Ireland and for EMEA insurances.

He spent two decades at Deutsche Bank, with assignments in several positions in global markets and asset management both in Frankfurt and London.

He for instance was in charge of client solutions for three years. Previously, Clenshaw also worked for Commerzbank and WestLB in the institutional clients and bond teams.

Grappling With Challenges

«Institutional investors are grappling with the challenges created by unprecedented low yields and the intervention of central banks,» said Minio-Paluello according to the statement. «Lombard Odier IM is in the unique position to help these clients evolving demands due to our innovative and specialist investment products.»
