SIX Gruppe has bolstered its board. Like the stock exchange operator's chairman, the new joiner is a Credit Suisse trading and sales veteran.

SIX Group's shareholders elected Urs Beeler to its board, the stock exchange operator said in a statement on Friday. Beeler had until now been a member of SIX's exchange regulation board.

With Beeler, Credit Suisse has secured another representative on SIX's board. He is currently head of sales and trading at the bank, where he has worked for the past 20 years.

Beeler fills a vacancy left by the departure of Alexandre Zeller, who left SIX' board in order to chair Credit Suisse's Swiss unit. Another Credit Suisse veteran, Romeo Lacher, replaced Zeller as chairman of SIX in January.

Lacher, also a sales and trading veteran, was most recently operating chief of of Credit Suisse's private bank. He left the bank in February to focus on SIX.
