Credit Suisse is hiring a high-ranking equities banker from a British rival. It is the second prominent hire in short order for the business.

Mike Di Iorio will join the Zurich-based bank as head of equities for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in August, «Reuters» reported.

Mike Di Iorio 160A managing director at Barclays, where he is currently head of global equities sales, Di Iorio (pictured) is part of Credit Suisse's efforts to bolster equities, which has long taken a back seat to fixed income at the bank.

He is the second high-profile equities banker that Credit Suisse has nabbed in recent months: former UBS equities star Mike Stewart joins Credit Suisse in New York next month, as finews.com reported previously.
