Geneva's Bordier is deepening its ties to France with two new offices on the west coast. The move comes at the expense of a rival.
Bordier opened its first French office in 2006 in Paris. Now, the Geneva-based private bank is opening two new offices, both in coastal Brittany: in Brest and Rennes, the firm said.
The new offices are meant to kickstart growth in France for the Swiss bank as well as to move nearer to its clients, French boss Christophe Burtin said.
Two KBL Richelieu Hires
The Brest office will be led by Bernard Bergot, who will also be responsible for the wider Brittany region. He joins Bordier from Luxembourg's private bank KBL Richelieu in Brest, where he spent ten years as head of private banking. Previously, the 52-year-old French banker worked for CIC Banque and Credit Agricole.
In Rennem Philippe Le Guerneve will lead the office, as well as deputize for Bergot as regional head. He also comes from KBL Richelieu, part of the KBL group, which he first joined in 2008. Guerneve was part of private bank Arkea's top management from 2010 to 2014 before returning to KBL Richelieu as a senior private banker. The 49-year-old began his career at Credit Mutuel de Bretagne.
