Leonteq's restructuring has claimed another high-level victim. The latest executive to leave had been with the derivatives boutique for less than one year.

The communications head at the Zurich-based finance boutique, Ruediger Assion, is leaving the firm after less than one year, Leonteq said in a statement on Friday.

Dominik Ruggli, who heads Leonteq's investor relations, will fill in temporarily for Assion, who leaves to take on another, undisclosed role elsewhere.

Revolving C-Suite

The departure of Assion, a former Deutsche Boerse executive, is the result of deep spending cuts at Leonteq, which is undergoing a wide-ranging restructuring to prop up profits.

In the revolving door of Leonteq's C-suite, Assion has been part of a committee of top executives directly underneath top mangement – a sort of catchment for him and several other executives who had been demoted in a February shuffle.

Leonteq is temporarily being led by finance chiefMarco Amato after co-founder and Chief Executive Jan Schoch was forced out last month.
