Axa has appointed a new head of the Swiss corporate customer business. The insurance expert joins from rival Zurich Group.

Manuel Meier, 41, is taking charge of the Axa Corporate Solutions division in Switzerland, the French insurer said in a statement today. The Swiss manager, 41, will represent the business in Switzerland, Austria and Belgium – the Northern Europe region at Axa.

The corporate business in Europe is undergoing a reorganization. Italy and Spain henceforth will be bundled together in a Southern Europe region, while France, Germany and the U.K. remain as independent regional divisions.

Corporate Business Expert

Before joining Axa, Meier, an economist and lawyer, was head of the Commercial Insurance unit in Europe, Middle East and Africa at Zurich, working in Dublin. Previously he was also responsible for corporate customers in Switzerland at the same company.

Meier’s predecessor, Martin Voegeli, will assume a new role within the corporate solutions business.
