Impeccable Reputation

Staub has a very good reputation within Swiss financial circles. When he took the reigns at Blackrock four years ago, Blackrock Europe boss Dave Blumer also handed him responsibility for Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. Thus, he was in charge of the offices in Zurich, Geneva, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Warsaw and Bratislava.

Last summer, he assumed the lead over the institutional business in continental Europe, while passing on responsibility for Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe to Dirk Schmitz in Frankfurt.

Harvard-Educated

Staub is well prepared for his new career at Fidelity. He started out as an analyst and trader for UBS in Hong Kong in 1996. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master from University of St. Gallen.

Last September, Staub had received a new boss when Rachel Lord assumed responsibility for the EMEA region at Blackrock from Blumer, who in turn took over as global head of alternative investments.

Michael Burch

Chief Operating Officer Michael Burch (pictured above) will assume the duties of Staub in Zurich ad interim. Patrick Liedtke has been put in charge of institutional clients in addition to his job as head of the European insurance business.
