The Zurich-based private bank Julius Baer is expanding its business in the U.K. And that also includes the channel island of Guernsey, a long-established branch of the company.

Julius Baer has hired Robert Pickford for the private banking team based on Guernsey, one of the channel islands that belong to the U.K. Pickford joins from Canaccord Genuity, a wealth management firm, according to media reports in the U.K.

Pickford has twelve years of experience working in asset allocation and advisory and will cater to customers based on the islands and from the mainland. Julius Baer established a branch on Guernsey in 1989 and today has about 100 members of staff on the island.
