Hans Lauber, the ex-investment boss of Julius Baer and Winterthur insurance company joins the board of one Switzerland’s largest insurers – a return home for the veteran asset manager.

Hans Lauber will take a seat on the supervisory board of Axa Switzerland in spring 2018, according to the Winterthur-based company. The appointment takes Lauber home to his previous workplace, because until 2007, he acted as global investment chief at Winterthur insurance, the company which was taken over by Axa in 2006.

After leaving the Winterthur business, Lauber was CEO and chairman of Arecon investment firm, before joining Julius Baer as investment chief in 2011. In March 2014, Lauber resigned for family reasons.

The highly respected manager currently leads his own firm, HFL Invest, and also acts as member of the board of Postfinance and Fisch Asset Management.

Joining From Google Switzerland

Warnking 160Axa Switzerland also appointed Patrick Warnking (pictured left) as board member. Warnking joins from Google Switzerland, where he was country head. He previously was in charge of media and entertainment clients at Google Germany.

Felix Gutzwiller, a well-known Swiss doctor and liberal lawmaker, will step down from the board of Axa after 12 years. He reached the company’s age limit.
