Nicolo Salsano used to be in charge of the Credit Suisse investment bank in Germany and Austria. After a stint at a Chinese insurance, he is now back in banking.

HSBC Germany appointed Nicolo Salsano as successor of Norbert Reis as head of the corporate clients business, according to «Finance Magazin». Salsano will start in his new role as head of corporate and institutional banking in October.

At HSBC Germany, Salsano will be a direct competitor for Credit Suisse, which aims to build up its business with entrepreneurs in Europe’s largest economy.

Back in Banking

Salsano himself was at Credit Suisse for 17 years. The last job he held was as head of investment banking in Germany and Austria.

A year ago, Salsano became head of investment at the Brussels bureau of Chinese insurer Anbang.
