Institutional money-market transactions are usually conducted over the phone. Now an ex-Credit Suisse executive and new head of a Zurich fintech company is looking to shake up the market.

Daniel Sandmeier is the new head of Instimatch Global, the Zurich-based firm which is looking to digitalize institutional money market transactions, said in a statement on Wednesday.

The startup founded by Hugh Macmillen in 2016 has come up trumps with the appointment of Sandmeier, a one-time president of the Swiss Association of Structured Products, and well known in the markets. He was previously employed in asset management at Credit Suisse in the managed accounts arm. When the unit was wound down, he left Credit Suisse.

Instimatch Global has also made new appointments in the leadership group, adding Michael Schmidt (pictured above), a former bonds specialist at Deutsche Bank and UBS, and who also co-founded the research firm Algomi.

The new appointments are intended to drive its global growth plans. Along with Switzerland, the fintech company is also located in Germany, the U.K., and the Benelux countries.
