Bitcoin Suisse, the cryptocurrency service provider, has hired two bankers with a past at Credit Suisse, according to information obtained by finews.com.

The Zug-based crypto-specialist Bitcoin Suisse appointed Rolf Gaetzi as head of finance and operations and David Riegelnig as head of risk management. The company confirmed the information obtained by finews.com.

Gaetzi and Riegelnig both have a past working for Credit Suisse. Gaetzi spent 22 years at Switzerland’s second-biggest bank. He was the head of external asset manager services. He held several executive positions in external asset management at the Zurich-based company.

Strategic Appointments

Riegelnig (pictured below) has years of experience as a manager at Credit Suisse, but also acted as managing partner of a company dedicated to algorithmic trading. From his time at Credit Suisse, Riegelnig knew Arthur Vayloyan, today the head of Bitcoin Suisse. Urs Bigger, also a former Credit Suisse banker, is a member of the board of the crypto firm.

The appointments are an important part of the company’s strategy to employ experienced bankers in a bid to develop the crypto-finance offering designed for an institutional clientele.
