Credit Suisse has appointed a new head of Research Institute, the think tank of Switzerland No. 2 bank. She takes the place of Lucia Waldner, who’s been delegated to Brussels.

Nicole Longhi is the new head of Credit Suisse Research Institute (CSRI). She had her first big day with today’s publication of the Global Wealth Report.

Longhi, a graduate of the University of St. Gallen, also took the position on the staff committee of Chairman Urs Rohner. With the appointment, Longhi has become a member of the inner circle of the bank’s strategic decision-makers.

Prevent the Unforeseen

The CSRI is a brainchild of former Chairman Walter Kielholz. He wanted the institute to conduct research in all possible directions to avoid being caught out by unforeseen events. Longhi has access to hundreds of experts within the bank to perform this job.

Longhi replaces Lucia Waldner (pictured below), who in the summer was delegated to the lobby group of the two big Swiss banks in Brussels.

Waldner 500

Longhi has been at Credit Suisse for ten years and in her last appointment acted as chief of staff in corporate and investment banking. Previously she was active at EY and at Novartis, in the internal audit group.
