Zuercher Kantonalbank is sponsoring a co-working platform on one of the traditional boats on Lake Zurich – the perfect opportunity for a change of scenery in the traditionally grey month of January.

The company that operates the boats on Lake Zurich (ZSG) is teaming up with Zuercher Kantonalbank (ZKB) in a project that aims to bring the lake closer to the people of Zurich. At the end of January, ZSG will have the MS Limmat fitted with a co-working space in its bow, called «Ahoi».

In the test, «Ahoi» will offer 24 work stations, fully equipped with a WLAN, coffee and sweets sponsored by ZKB, according to a report by «20 Minuten» newspaper. The trip to Rapperswil at the other end of the lake and back takes some four hours.

Brisk Demand

The project was launched to show that a trip up and down the lake is not just for tourists but also businesspeople eager for a break. ZSG will test the offer on two afternoons on January 22 and January 31. The first afternoon cruise is already a sell-out, while a few places remain on January 31.

ZSG hasn’t decided whether it will make the offer permanent, despite the brisk demand for the test cruises.
