A Credit Suisse compliance specialist is offering yoga classes to Paradeplatz's banker guild. finews.com hits the mat with the banker-yogi putting stressed out bankers through their asanas.

It begun with a flyer (pictured below) in the canteen at Swiss bank UBS in Zurich:

Guy Lustinger, a know-your-client specialist at Credit Suisse distributed the flyers to advertise for his «yoga for bankers» program, he told finews.com. And thus I found myself one day later in Zurich's edgy fourth district in a spacious room upstairs from «Sacred», a vegan restaurant and ice cream parlor.

Decked out in a yellow top to signify open and curious harmony of body, mind, and soul and roomy white trousers to illustrate «Atman», a person's true self, Guy tells me he has been practicing yoga for ten years. His brother, also a yoga teacher, had prodded him for years to try it, but Guy resisted – until a fateful car accident.

«After the accident, I suffered from whiplash and neck pain – to the point that I couldn't even shake my head left and right anymore», he tells me.

Accident as Motivation

His doctors couldn't offer him any help beyond prescriptions for painkillers, so Guy decided to follow his brother's advice and enroll in a yoga class. He's never looked back: «Today, after ten years, I don't have any neck pain and I enjoy the endless physical and mental benefits of daily yoga practice».
