The head of Vontobel’s investment banking research has decided to seek a new challenge after 17 years at the company. His replacement comes from within the bank’s ranks.

Panagiotis «Takis» Spiliopoulos, head of investment research and senior analyst at Vontobel, will leave the company, according to a memo seen by finews.com.

Spiliopoulos will join Temenos, the Geneva-based banking software firm, as chief financial officer, the company said in a statement. He replaces Max Chuard, who becomes the new CEO of the firm.

Acclaimed Brokerage Team

Spiliopoulos spent 17 years at the research organization of Vontobel and was head of the unit for the past decade. He’s been accredited with making the IB sell-side brokerage a leading competitor in Switzerland, proof of which were awards issued by Extel as leading brokerage firm.
