Patrick Frost, the CEO of Switzerland's largest life insurer, saw his pay jump in 2018.

The «red envelope» for Swiss Life boss Patrick Frost was a lot bulkier this year: the CEO took home 4.3 million Swiss francs ($4.3 million) in 2018, according to Swiss Life's annual report released on Wednesday. This represents a pay jump of more than one-quarter on the year for Frost.

Swiss Life's six-person top management earned slightly less on the year: 13.4 million francs, down less than 1 percent on 2017. Top executives didn't receive any shares as compensation for 2018. Instead, they are allotted so-called restricted share units which are tied to Swiss Life's stock price.

Chairman Rolf Doerg saw his pay hold steady at 1.2 billion francs. The 11-person board was paid 3 million francs last year.
