Neon, a Zurich-based banking fintech, has finished evaluating its application. The company has launched the second Swiss banking app vying for clients.

«Neon is ready to take on the established banks»: the fintech didn’t hold back when it launched its banking application on Tuesday. The company in the six months of the beta phase has won thousands of clients for its offering, it said in a statement.

Neon is the second Swiss smartphone-based banking app to go live after Zak, the offering of Bank Cler. Neon is trying to beat its competition through an attractive pricing model and its handling. The fintech doesn’t take a basic fee and also charges nothing for the Mastercard. The onboarding process is done and dealt with in ten minutes, the company promises.

With its offering, Neon hopes to takes its place in the Swiss banking industry which the company says is only marginally digital and far too expensive. Neon uses Hypothekarbank Lenzburg as its custodian and the bank also guarantees for the assets on customer accounts at Neon.
