One of Zurich’s best-known rainmakers has joined a U.S. investment bank as a senior adviser for Switzerland.

Ronald Sauser on Tuesday started in his new role as adviser at investment bank GCA. The company, which in Europe acts under the name of GCA Altium, expanded its Swiss advisory board to accommodate Sauser. It now includes three members – Andreas Kirchschlaeger and Christian Wipf are the two other members of this board. The GCA group emerged from a takeover of Altium by U.S. investment bank GCA Savvian in 2016.

Sauser is well-known in Zurich’s financial circles, with more than three decades of experience as a rainmaker. He started his career at the investment bank of Credit Suisse and was in charge of Sal Oppenheim Corporate Finance Switzerland and Leonardo & Co. Switzerland.

Business Angel

After the divestment of the Leonardo Group in 2015, Sauser took part of his team to EY Switzerland and became head of mergers and acquisitions.

Sauser also has experience as a business angel and board member. He was a member of the supervisory body of Goldbach Media, an advertising firm sold to Tamedia last year. A transaction that GCA Altium advised on.
