After a turbulent seven months and change of CEO, GAM is renewing its board. The Swiss asset manager is relying on several high-profile women as it attempts to turn the corner.

GAM directors Diego du Monceau, Ezra Field and Monica Maechler will not stand for reelection at GAM's May 8 shareholder meeting, the company said in a statement on Thursday. GAM proposes Katia Coudray, Jacqui Irvine, and Monika Machon to replace them.

The three proposed directors are all high-profile women in the fund industry. Coudray was most recently CEO of Banque Syz's asset management arm until last year. Irvine was legal chief of Janus Henderson until last year, and Machon was senior vice-president and treasurer at AIG until 2016.

GAM Chairman Hugh Scott-Barrett will stand for reelection, as will Benjamin Meuli, Nancy Mistretta, and David Jacob, who is standing in as temporary Chief Executive following the exit of Alex Friedman five months ago.
