The Swiss bank is snapping up a private market boutique run by Adriana Ospel-Bodmer, the wife of former UBS Chairman Marcel Ospel. She will take a prominent role at Bellevue.

Bellevue Group is acquiring Adbodmer, a boutique specialized in mid-cap mergers and acquisitions, the Zurich-based bank said in a statement. Financial details of the deal, which will see Adbodmer continue as an independently-run subsidiary of the Swiss bank, weren't disclosed.

Adbodmer was founded in 2001 by Adriane Ospel-Bodmer, a 44-year-old Swiss banker and scion of the wealthy Bodmer financial dynasty. She is married to Marcel Ospel, the former chairman of UBS who left in disgrace ahead of a $60 billion government bailout of the bank in 2008. Ospel-Bodmer will remain a strategic adviser to Bellevue and a director of Adbodmer.

For Bellevue, the acquisition is a way to diversify its revenue into a wealth management niche. Her Adbodmer partner, Jan Kollros, will also remain with Bellevue following the deal. He is to join the bank's top management and run the private equity unit.
