Raiffeisen, the Swiss regional banking group, will use the blockchain technology to help corporate clients manage their shareholder registry.

The corporate client division of Raiffeisen (release in German) has agreed with Daura to provide customers with a solution that makes the management of a shareholders registry easier, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Daura is a joint firm of Swisscom and MME-lawyer Luka Mueller. It will deliver the blockchain technology for the project to Raiffeisen. With the tool, companies will be enabled to digitize shares and participation certificates in line with Swiss law.

The deal will help companies and small business to keep their shareholder registry secure and manage it efficiently. They will be able to transfer shares and list a capital increases with a keystroke.

The technology offered by Raiffeisen will also help member firms gain access to new investors. The platform enables the transfer of securities from one investor to the next.
