Paolo Buzzi, one of the founders of Swiss online bank Swissquote, has been appointed to a major role at Netguardians. The fintech will profit from the technological know-how of the banking pioneer.

Netguardians elected Paolo Buzzi (pictured below) as a board member, the Yverdon-les-Bains-based fintech said in a statement on Tuesday. Buzzi, one of the founders of Swissquote, will act as an independent member of the committee.

Buzzi founded Swissquote together with Marc Buerki in 1999 in the early years of the Internet. It was Switzerland’s first online-only bank and Buzzi has been in charge of the technical development at the company since its inception. He still shares his office with Buerki at the headquarters in Gland.

Netguardians was founded in 2007 and became a pioneer in the development of surveillance software against fraud and cybercrime.
