The Swiss stock exchange operator SIX has bought a stake in a Zurich-based fintech startup. The solutions developed by the startup are mainly targeted at the clientele of SIX.

SIX Fintech Ventures has bought a stake in PXL Vision, according to a statement released by the stock exchange operator on Tuesday. The company didn’t reveal the amount it paid for the stake.

PXL Vision is developing solutions for online verification and has evolved from a spinoff of the ETH Zurich university.

Suppliers of Swiss ID

The company is a supplier of Swiss Sign Group, which developed Swiss ID, the digital identity standard. The Swiss financial market is strongly involved in the development of the Swiss ID.

SIX Fintech Ventures in the past has bought stakes in startups Vestr and Shift Cryptosecurity. The venture fund of SIX has 50 million Swiss francs ($51 million) in assets.
