J. Safra Sarasin wants to grow its business in Switzerland and has poached two experienced bankers from Credit Suisse in Zurich.

Basel-based J. Safra Sarasin has hired two private bankers from Credit Suisse. One of the appointments took place in April and the second at the beginning of July, the bank said in a statement on Friday.

Michael Seiler, who joined the private bank in April, has 25 years of experience. Rita Amrein, who only just started at the bank in Basel, looks back on a 15-year-career in banking. Both worked as senior private bankers for Switzerland’s second-largest bank.

Seiler and Amrein now work in the team private banking for domestic clients in Zurich. They report to Raphael Alder, who joined J. Safra Sarasin in December. Alder is also a former Credit Suisse banker; he took a whole team along to J. Safra Sarasin when he signed up.
