VP Bank is hiring a Swiss banker from EFG International, in a bid to boost its business with intermediaries in Asia.

The Vaduz-based bank is hiring Thomas Jost as head of intermediaries in Singapore, according to an emailed statement. Jost, who will join VP on Thursday, is currently tasked with developing the same business at EFG International.

«In his role as head of intermediaries, his focus will be on Asian external asset managers to support VP Bank’s growth aspirations in the region,» the bank said in a statement. He will report to VP's head of client business in Singapore, Reto Marx.

Jost is a Swiss banker who began his career at Credit Suisse. Prior to joining EFG just last year, he spent seven years running Julius Baer's business with independent asset managers in Singapore. His hire is part of a push in Singapore by VP, including a strategic cooperation with a Chinese wealth manager.
