Asset Management Specialist consultancy Alpha FMC hires two long-standing experts to expand its team in German-speaking Switzerland, finews.com can reveal.

Six months after opening its Zurich office close to the select Paradeplatz location, Alpha Financial Market Consulting (Alpha FMC) has recruited Roman Aschwanden (pictured below) and Zoë Sheehan, both of whom have previously worked for market-leading asset management firms and join with effect from the start of September, a spokesperson confirmed.

The needs of Alpha FMC’s clients are becoming increasingly sophisticated, especially among investment managers and pension funds, and having these two experts onboard will enable Alpha FMC to respond even more proactively to their needs, the company said. The Zurich office is led by Nicolas Cherbuin and has a staff count of 20, including these latest hires.

Moving to Blackrock in London

Sheehan has been working in asset management and investment banking for over a decade, developing risk & performance solutions, portfolio management solutions and trading platforms for investment managers. She previously worked for IHS Markit selling their specialised derivatives and risk analytics platform across Europe.

Additionally, she worked for First Derivatives growing the boutique consultancy in North America before moving to Blackrock in London. Throughout her career, she has specialized in asset management technology systems. She holds an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University Belfast.

Continued Growth in Switzerland

These strategic recruitments will enhance the ability of Alpha FMC – which has been operating in Switzerland since 2017 from Geneva – to meet the requirements of local investment managers and pension funds, the firm said. For the group, this should lead to further inroads among financial-services professionals and continued sustained growth in the Swiss market.
