A key strategist for UBS' private bank in Europe is leaving the Swiss wealth manager after 16 years. She is the latest in a series of senior executives to leave the unit in recent months.

She is opting to «retire from UBS to pursue outside interests and passions,» Polito wrote in a memorandum to staff (UBS confirmed the contents). Bakke is also involved in a wine-importing business run by her husband. She is being replaced temporarily in the UBS strategy job by Rainer Hauser, one of the people said.
Series of Exits
Bakke is a 16-year-veteran of UBS, during which she has held a series of high-level roles in finance, wealth management, and corporate development. She also worked on UBS' too-big-to-fail planning following the financial crisis.
The wealth unit is prepping for ex-Credit Suisse top executive Iqbal Khan to take over the co-head role alongside his U.S. counterpart Tom Naratil next week. The unit has been beset by listlessness, with several managing directors including Oliver Banz, Maria Leistner, and Andreas Raquet exiting.
