A British executive search firm is reinforcing its practice in Zurich. The move is a response to firms moving resources out of the U.K. ahead of Brexit.

Leathwaite is hiring Thomas Lundsgaard as its head of interim management in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa from October 1, it said in a statement. Lundsgaard is part of a push by the London-based headhunter to temporarily fill management positions leaving Britain as a result of the country's planned exit from the European Union.

«We are increasingly seeing clients hire non-permanent resources outside of the U.K. as they adapt their business model and entity structure to reflect the political and economic factors currently affecting their businesses,» Sam Burt, who runs the interim search practice at Leathwaite, said in a statement.

Short-Term Needs

Companies are registering an increasing need for short-term help with areas including digital transformation, regulatory changes, and cybersecurity, Leathwaite EMEA head Chris Rowe noted. Lundsgaard, who is based in Zurich, will focus on Switzerland, Germany, and Luxembourg as well as the Nordics.

The Danish-born consultant previously worked for Aros and E.On. He joins Leathwaite from a boutique specialized in human resources, talent management, and organizational design.
