The New York-based top investment adviser left UBS in the summer to pursue a career as a fintech entrepreneur. He has now resurfaced as CEO of a Blockchain-based platform for tokenized securities.

Claude Waelchli spent a dozen years at UBS, working as an investment adviser for rich clients, according to his profile on LinkedIn. The last position he held before leaving in July was head of investments global ultra-high-net-worth and institutional clients.

As co-founder and chief executive officer of Tokenyz he relies on the financial market to get his new charge taking off. Banks are also busy developing their own new technology, but «there’s nothing really substantial that banks are doing at this point of time,» he told «Coindesk».

Swift and Easy Settlement

Over the past six months, Tokenyz designed its own infrastructure that allows it to tokenize existing assets on the Blockchain. The advantage of such as system is provides for faster and easier settlement of transactions as well as smaller trades.

Tokenyz currently has 17 members of staff, among them the former chief technology officer of Coinsecure, Benson Samuel, «Coindesk» reported.
