U.S. asset manager AllianceBernstein is expanding in Switzerland and has hired a sales veteran with a career that includes spells at UBS and Julius Baer.

Peter Leffler was appointed financial institutional adviser (Switzerland) in the rank of director at the Swiss unit of AllianceBernstein, a U.S. asset manager. Leffler has 23 years of experience in the industry.

Leffler will take charge of the development of relations to financial intermediaries in Switzerland, AllianceBernstein said in a statement. He will support the company in the design of investment solutions with and for clients, tailor-made to their needs.

Used to Deal With Large Clients

Leffler will report to Martin Dilg, head of wholesale distribution of AllianceBernstein in the German-speaking countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Leffler joins AllianceBernstein from J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he worked as a senior client adviser in the rank of executive director. At J.P. Morgan, he focused on the business with large clients including universal banks, private banks and independent wealth managers.

Swiss Bank Experience

Before his stint at J.P. Morgan, Leffler had been at Swiss & Global Asset Management for two years. Previously he spent five years working for UBS and two years at Julius Baer.
