Under former UBS top banker Juerg Zeltner, KBL is hiring another top banker from the Swiss wealth management giant, finews.com has learned.

The Luxembourg-based wealth firm is appointing Stephan Matti as head of financial intermediaries, effective immediately, a source familiar with the matter told finews.com. A spokesman for KBL confirmed the hire.

Matti is an UBS «lifer» who most recently was in charge of the Swiss bank's intermediaries business in Switzerland. He takes a comparable role at KBL, which manages roughly 30 billion euros ($33 billion) on behalf of other parties, largely in Luxembourg. Matti will also look after cross-border markets in Europe.

The Swiss banker is the latest in a long line of former associates of Juerg Zeltner, who left UBS in 2017. Thanks to owner Qatar's deep pockets, Zeltner is hiring and revamping aggressively in a bid to revive KBL, as finews.com reported last week.
