The Swiss domestic business doesn't count as major strength of Julius Baer, the Zurich-based private bank. The company now wants to boost the business with the help of new regional managers.

Julius Baer appointed two new regional heads for Switzerland, it said in separate statements released on Wednesday. Emmanuel Debons (pictured below) will take charge of affairs in the French-speaking part of the country, while his colleague Ettore Bonsignore will act as his counterpart in the Ticino, the Italian-speaking Switzerland.

Emmanuel Debons

Yves Robet-Charrue, the head of Switzerland (and of the EMEA region) expects the changes in organization and the new management team to boost growth in the region.

Debons has worked for Julius Baer since 2014 and was in charge of the Lausanne branch, as well as the business in the cantons of Vaud and Valais. He previously worked for UBS during 25 years.

Ettore Bonsignore

Bonsignore (pictured above) joined the bank in October of 2019 as head of Italy. He previously worked for PKB and Credit Suisse and will assume the Ticino region in addition to the business in Italy.
