UBS is moving a veteran into a key finance position at its private bank, finews.com has learned.

The Swiss bank is moving Todd Tuckner into the top finance job of its wealth management arm as well as in a key region, according to a memo seen by finews.com. Tuckner replaces Markus Habbel, who held the job for the last four years, effective immediately. A spokesman for UBS confirmed the appointment.

Tuckner, a 16-year-veteran of UBS who is moving to Switzerland from the U.S. for the job, will report to overall finance chief Kirt Gardner in his current role as chief accounting officer, which he is keeping. In parallel, he will report to wealth co-heads Iqbal Khan and Tom Naratil as the unit's finance boss, but also to Sabine Keller-Busse as he takes on finance in the European, Middle East, and Africa unit which she oversees.

UBS is reinforcing by naming Angus Graham, another UBS finance veteran, as Tuckner's back-up in his existing group controller role. The appointments follow broader, strategic changes for the flagship wealth unit last month.

Habbel was instrumental in setting up a post-Brexit hub for UBS in Frankfurt. He will leave the bank for other opportunities after transferring his responsibilities to Tuckner, according to the memo.
