Evolute is hiring a specialist for digital marketplaces as its new boss, finews.com has learned. The choice signals where the Swiss fintech wants to take its business with wealth managers and family offices.

The Zurich-based financial technology company is appointing Myriam Reinle as its new CEO, a person familiar with her hire told finews.ch. She replaces Patrick Barnert, effective immediately, a spokesman for Evolute confirmed.

Reinle is an experienced digital executive who most recently ran Lendico, a crowdlending platform, in Switzerland. Previously, she ran Car4you, a platform for second-hand automobile sales, and she was one of the first employees at Homegate, a Swiss real estate website.

Strategic Overhaul

Founded in 2016, Evolute is coming out of a 12-month restructuring under temporary CEO Barnert to overhaul its strategy, which originally focused on providing software for wealth managers and family offices. The software has been revitalized and is poised to launch. The company's goal is to shift towards a marketplace strategy for institutional clients.

Evolute, founded by Leonteq co-founder Michael Hartweg, in 2017 merged with compliance adviser Swiss Comply, only to backtrack one year later. Hartweg took the helm temporarily until Barnert, ex-CEO of regtech Qumram, took over and developed Evolute's new strategy. Last year, ex-UBS Chairman Marcel Ospel emerged as a heavyweight investor.
