The founder of software maker Temenos has decided to leave the board after almost two decades along with two other directors. The company has appointed two new members, one of which is a software distribution expert.

Temenos, a Geneva-based maker of banking software, will hold the annual general meeting on May 20 without audience, it announced in a statement on Thursday. One of the points on the agenda of the meeting is a makeover of the board.

George Koukis, Sergio Giacoletto-Roggio and Amy Yip will leave the board of directors. Koukis is the founder of the company and has been member of the board for the past 19 years. He will remain close to the firm and offer guidance and support, said Chairman Andreas Andreades according to the statement.

Appointment With Experience

Temenos appointed two new members for election to the board. Maurizio Carli until recently was executive vice president for sales and services at VMware, a U.S. tech firm and provider of software solutions. He led the firms’ global sales organization. Previously, he spent 19 years at IBM, where he had oversight of all software products.

The Swiss company expects his experience will prove relevant given the pace of growth it is experiencing and the significant acceleration in demand for cloud computing and «software as a service» from clients.

Growth Hurt by Coronavirus

Temenos in October had announced the nomination of Homaira Akbari (pictured below) , chairwoman and CEO of Aknowledge Partners and Santander board member, for election to the board of Temenos.

Temenos on Tuesday had pulled its guidance after revenues declined in the first quarter due to the coronavirus lockdown. It cut the growth target for sales to 13 percent from a previous 16 to 20 percent. CEO Max Chuard and Chairman Andreades announced that they will take a 50 percent salary cut.
