Forestay Capital, the digital tech arm of the Bertarelli family office, appointed a new director specialized in emerging tech investments. 

Waypoint Capital, which manages the wealthy Swiss family's investments, is appointing Randy Castleman to the board of its subsidiary, Forestay Capital, the vehicle said in an emailed statement on Tuesday. Forestay is Waypoint's technology investment arm.

Castleman is an experienced venture capital investor as well as as advisor to institutional investors like family offices. He is managing director of New York-based Direct Investment Resources, which helps wealthy investors make tech investments. Previously, he co-founded Court Square, a venture capital firm specialized in technology.

Biotech Background

With  the additional of Castleman, Forestay's board is made up of Stefan Meister and Ron Cami, who are operating chief and general counsel, respectively, at Waypoint; and Alex Papadimitriou, CEO and investment head at Kedge Capital, the arm of Waypoint specialized in hedge funds and private equity.

Forestay, now three years old, invests in the digital tech sector and is focused on companies, in Europe, Israel and the U.S., that challenge
established models, mainly through software and data. The Bertarelli family, which sold Serono to German Merck in 2006, is estimated to be worth north of $14 billion.
